Place + date: In April 2012, one of the most prestigious spirits competitions was held in the United States: the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Grand Marnier® stood out by winning numerous awards for its prestige Cuvées, in particular for the sublime Quintessence which was released in 2011.
Quintessence won hands down in its category, winning the title of Best Liqueur, as well as the coveted double gold medal. The latest addition to the range of the Grand Marnier® liqueurs, Quintessence is a blend of exceptional cognacs aged for many years, some of which come from the Paradis*, and twice-distilled essence of Bigaradia oranges, which gives it exceptionally rich flavours. Created in 2011 by the Marnier Lapostolle family, Quintessence is a glorified reinterpretation of their original creation, Grand Marnier® Cordon Rouge.
Two other prestigious brands, Grand Marnier® Cuvée Centenaire (created for the company’s 100th anniversary) and Grand Marnier® Cent Cinquantenaire (for its 150th anniversary) also won double gold medals for their exceptional quality. Grand Marnier® competed against nearly 1,300 spirits from 60 countries. The San Francisco World Spirits Competition was first held in 2000. Considered by professionals as being the most comprehensive and best known spirits competition in the world, it is presided over by a panel of judges represented by respected professionals from the spirits industry, as well as famous journalists and writers. Since the competition was first held, Grand Marnier® has won the highest awards each year.
This event gives Marnier-Lapostolle the opportunity to demonstrate its unique know-how, showcase its range of products among the world’s greatest spirits, and gain recognition from top professionals for Grand Marnier® which is sold in over 150 countries throughout the world.
